Vividas Instructional Videos
Duties:
Animation, Modeling, Texturing, Editing
Description:
“Vividas” technology allowed for high quality, fast streaming video on the internet. Even when current video technologies were not prevelant. They allow for simple streaming of pre recorded videos and also streaming or live events. To describe how their technology produced such good results I was employed to animate the process. Lava Web Creations employed me to take the design in storyboard form, that they had created for Vividas, and turn it into motion. There were certain elements which required interpretation and addition (like the movement and sparks), but Yuan at Lava did a great job on the inital design.

At the start of the project Nick, the sound engineer, created some mood pieces. A track was chosen and I animated with it’s rythm in mind. After the whole sequences animation was finalised Nick finished the soundtrack and tailored it to suit the elements of the animation – which really helps it shine.

Father & Daughter Models
Duties:
Modeling, Texturing, Rigging
Description:
While in University, my friend Peter and I scripted an abstract and dark humoured little short which jumped randomly between different, curious situations. We never completed the short as we both went onto other things, however, these are 2 characters which Peter design in illustrator and I modeled in 3D.

Changeling

Project:
Changeling Model
Duties:
Modeling, Texturing, Rigging
Description:
This character was modeled straight from an illustrators 2d designs. Ben Spiby did some great illustrations and also painted the textures based off the unwrapped templates I gave him.

The character was modeled, textured, rigged and animated roughly for the short that it was being composited into before we all got quite busy with making a living and the project got sidelined. Because of the lenght of this gap between work, without realising it, I lost the project in backup complications. What a soul destroying moment the realisation of that was. Showing here are the only images I have left. I am currently restarting the modeling as everyone on the project is picking up the project again.

Design , Modeling, Animation
Description:
Swing Patrol is a dance company which began in Melbourne, Australia. They often brought out DVD’s showing highlights from their events. Having seen a bunch of these DVD’s I approached them for the opportunity to create a new DVD menu for one of their DVD’s. It involved modeling their logo in 3d and animating it and the menu elements.

Here you simply see the intro and outro to the DVD menu.

Imagine a short where someone gets infected by a disease. The camera follows him around the streets and we see his mind showing him crazy things. All of a sudden the camera flies in through his pupil and eventually gets to his heart where we see “FFF”. He is infected with the Foreshore Film Festival.
That’s the short that this logo animation would have been in. Unfortunately, while the 3d animation was finished for this proejct, the rest of it never got completed.
